Q:  What does Grass Fed Beef mean?

A:  Grass Fed means that the cows have a diet their entire lives that consists of grass and forage.  NO grains are fed.

 

Q:  What are the advantages of Grass Fed Beef?

 

A:  Grass Fed Beef is 2.5x higher in Omega 3 Fatty Acids than conventional beef and is lower in total fat content.

 

Q:  What is the "hanging weight"?

 

A:  Hanging weight is a what the beef carcass weighs at the butchers after the hide, head, and organs are removed.

 

Q:  How much storage space is needed for the different amounts of beef?

 

A:  Rule of thumb is 1 cubic foot per 35lbs of meat.  A quarter beef will fit fine in the upper portion of a refrigerator/freezer combo.         For a 1/2 beef you will need something that has at least 8 cubic feet.
